Acoustic ceilings give points to DGNB office building
Gladsaxe Company House, the metal-colored office building that i.a. houses the head office of NCC, is the first office building in Denmark with a DGNB-platinum certification. Here plays i.a. the choice of material, including the acoustic ceilings, is important in relation to the certification and not least the indoor climate.
This is the workplace of the future you step into when you visit Gladsaxe Company House. Right from the entrance with recycled wood from the stands at Lyngby Stadium and with the vertical plant wall - the green agenda is set. The office building has been the first in Denmark to be awarded DGNB-Platinum certification due to the approach to sustainability and to show what the workplace of the future can look like.
Sustainable materials
Sustainable materials are a key issue in the building, where building materials can be disassembled and recycled after demolition, and 90% of the wood used is FSC-certified, and the remaining 10% is regenerated timber and recycled from other construction sites.
With the choice of Rockfon acoustic ceilings, sustainability also goes back to the ceiling. Rockfon Krios has a high level of recycled content from rock wool. In addition, there is also content originating from waste from other industries, which helps to upcycle waste. “Our acoustic panels are made of rock wool, which is extracted from i.a. basalt stones, and which are naturally occurring in nature. In addition to being a sustainable material, rock wool has completely unique acoustic properties”, says Finn Jørgensen, Specification Manager.
Acoustic ceilings provide a good indoor climate in offices
90% of the costs in a company are related to the employees, and therefore it is important that architects think acoustics and indoor climate into your design from the start. A good indoor climate includes of good sound without annoying noise, optimal use of daylight and creative setting. “In Gladsaxe Company House, Rockfon Krios has been chosen. Rockfon Krios is a good acoustic ceiling that provides good acoustics and thus a better indoor climate for employees with a focus on well-being", says Finn Jørgensen and continues,"that the construction is also DGNG-platinum certified, just makes us a proud supplier".
